I first argue that Hegel’s treatment of Abram in Spirit of Christianity and its Fate is an objection to faith-in. Building on this from additional Hegelian texts, I argue that Hegel’s objection arises from his social command account of morality. I then turn to Johannes de Silentio’s treatments of Abraham in Fear and Trembling and Søren Kierkegaard’s Works of Love to argue that Kierkegaard defends faith-in as part of a moderate divine command account of moral knowledge. Finally, this article concludes that the belittler objection is ultimately an objection to faith-in as a divine command source of moral knowledge or obligation rather than a social command source.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_10_publisher_15":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"The American Catholic Philosophical Association"}]},"item_10_source_id_7":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"10513558","subitem_source_identifier_type":"PISSN"}]},"item_10_source_id_9":{"attribute_name":"item_10_source_id_9","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AA10767195","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_10_version_type_12":{"attribute_name":"出版タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_version_resource":"http://purl.org/coar/version/c_ab4af688f83e57aa","subitem_version_type":"AM"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"KOMASINSKI, Andrew","creatorNameLang":"en"}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_access","date":[{"dateType":"Available"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"ak-202502-04.docx","filesize":[{"value":"72.3 KB"}],"mimetype":"application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document","url":{"url":"https://hokkyodai.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/2000405/files/ak-202502-04.docx"},"version_id":"485ec229-1497-4ad2-91af-20b25b11c1c4"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"Hegel","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Philosophy of Religion","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Kierkegaard","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"ヘーゲル","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"宗教哲学","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"キルケゴール","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"item_resource_type","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"journal article","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"Faith, Recognition, and Community : Abraham and “Faith-In” in Hegel and Kierkegaard","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Faith, Recognition, and Community : Abraham and “Faith-In” in Hegel and Kierkegaard","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"10","owner":"5","path":["715"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"PubDate","attribute_value":"2025-03-07"},"publish_date":"2025-03-07","publish_status":"0","recid":"2000405","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Faith, Recognition, and Community : Abraham and “Faith-In” in Hegel and Kierkegaard"],"weko_creator_id":"5","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2025-03-10T06:28:31.775810+00:00"}
