| 内容記述 | This research examines the Japanese approach to teaching mathematics in the classroom, specifically the “teaching through problem-solving” method. This approach significantly differs from other countries, and Japan is consistently ranked among the top countries in mathematics education. This study examines the structured problem-solving approach （its core element is extensive discussion, known as Neriage） and how school teachers implement it. The study was conducted at an elementary school attached with Hokkaido University of Education, primarily through weekly classroom observations, questionnaires for teachers, and a review of relevant literature. The results revealed that Neriage is central to the structured problem-solving approach and is a significant factor in developing higher-order mathematical skills among students. | |||||||
