| 内容記述 | In the United States of America, one of the most vexing issues for judicial politics scholars is whether and to what degree public opinion has affected the decisions of the Supreme Court. Empirical scholars have come to quite different conclusions about the impact of public preferences on the decisions of the Court; some have found the Justices to be attentive to mass opinion, while others have judged mass opinion irrelevant. This article summarizes some of the main leading studies dealing with these issues and finds that there is wide scholarly agreement that the Supreme Court decisions generally mirror public sentiment. | |||||||
