【Background】Yips have been reported as one of the psychological factors that hinder athletes from exerting and maintaining continuity in their performance. There is almost no constant view of a fundamental solution. 【Purpose】The purpose of this study was to conduct a survey of Yips scale score and STAI score for university baseball athletes. 【Methods】Yips scale survey and STAI survey （trait anxiety and state anxiety survey） were conducted on 31 subjects who were university regulation baseball club players. The surveys comprised self-administered questionnaires. 【Results】A moderate correlation was found between the Yips scale and the scores of the trait anxiety survey with r = 0.51, and a same coefficient was found between the Yips scale and the scores of the state anxiety survey with r = 0.49. 【Discussion】The results showed that there was a gradual correlation between the STAI survey and the scores of the Yips scale, suggesting that anxiety may be related to Yips as a background factor. It further suggests that it is important to consider not only physical training but also conditioning adjustment in daily practice, for improved mental health of athletes. |
