The two countries have seen educational exchanges over the past centuries. Despite differences in culture, locality, climate, resources, and technology, there are several similarities between Fiji and Japan’s education systems. According to the results of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) between 2012 to 2018, Japan was ranked among the top 10 countries. However, there have been concerns regarding mathematics achievements in Fiji. Strong ties between two countries will aid in improving mathematics education in Fiji.
