内容記述 | This research aims to clarify learners’ perceptions regarding the use of their second language(L2, or English)in the L2 classroom. The Course of Study in Japan demonstrates that the English class at high schools should be conducted mainly in English. However, in many cases, the use of English is insufficient for several reasons. Some of them are related to teachers’ beliefs about teaching, while others are teachers’ ability or confidence to speak English. This study focuses on learners’ perceptions concerning teachers’ L2 use in their classrooms because they are often misunderstood and overlooked. In addition, since many learners do not experience enough L2 use by teachers in the classroom, they cannot have the firm belief. Then, in this research, learners are given sufficient L2 exposure by a teacher in their class, and how they felt about it and whether their perceptions changed over this treatment were examined. The data were collected using a questionnaire twice: before and after the treatment. As a result, it was revealed that many learners have positive opinions overall, and their opinion changed positively. These can promote teachers’ more L2 use in class. | |||||||||
